Yoga Studies and 200 Hour Certification Program

Join us in the deeper exploration of yoga practice, history, wisdom, wellness, and community during this 5 month weekend program and certification course. This Yoga Alliance approved and certified program will provide (upon successful completion) the 200 hour yoga teacher certificate and a sincere & deeper understanding of the yoga lifestyle and practice. A calling or desire to teach is not required to enroll in this program (in fact most participate for their own fulfillment). This program meets 1 weekend per month during the 5 month span of classes with personal assignments, practice, and studies done at ones own pace. An informal open house will be offered in May.

Introduction to Yoga Series

Ready to start something new, that brings greater health, wellness, and stress reduction in the upcoming year? Yoga is a proven system that strengthens, lengthens, and supports the body, while channeling more focus in the mind and more ease in our emotional state.

We take a direct route to guiding the new student through a prelimenary understanding of yoga. We understand that a practice and system that is thousands of years in existence may seem intimadating and challenging but we believe in Yoga’s healing and beneficial results and know you will too.

In this 4 week series (meets 4 Monday for 1 hour in January) the student will learn, practice, and understand foundational yoga postures, breath work practices suitable for a beginner, meditations that help to reduce stress & tension, and a background on the history and philosophy found in traditional Yoga.

Introduction to Yoga Series

This is a four-class series beginning on the first Monday (February 5th, 2018) of each month. You’ll be introduced to basic postures (asana), breath work (pranayama), meditation techniques and yoga philosophy. Elements of the practice are explained more thoroughly–with emphasis on proper breathing, alignment and mindful movement. If you have any flexibility/strength limitations, special conditions or injuries, you will learn modifications that enable you to practice effectively and safely. This series is appropriate for those who have never been to a yoga class before, those who have completed the series and would like to continue their educations or those who desire a refresher on the fundamentals.
